Shallum son of Kore

Shallum son of Kore is named among the gatekeepers in 1 Chronicles 9:17. The passage calls Shallum “the head” (1 Chronicles 9:17).

In 1 Chronicles 9:19, Shallum is identified as the son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah. The verse says that Shallum and his brothers belonged to the house of their father, the Korahites. It also says they were over the work of the service, keeping the threshold of the tent; their fathers were over the camp of the LORD, keeping the entrance.
