Queen of Sheba in the Bible is a queen who heard a report about Solomon and came to test him with riddles (1 Kings 10:1). She is named in at least 5 verses across 2 books, 1 Kings and 2 Chronicles. In the Chronicler’s account, she came to Jerusalem with a great retinue and spoke with Solomon about what was on her heart (2 Chronicles 9:1). She saw Solomon’s wisdom and the house he had built (2 Chronicles 9:3), gave him gold, spices, and precious stones (2 Chronicles 9:9), and later returned to her own land with her servants after Solomon gave her what she asked (2 Chronicles 9:12).
