Prophets of Asherah

Prophets of Asherah in the Bible are a prophet group first named in the call to gather all Israel at Mount Carmel. In 1 Kings 18:19, the passage includes four hundred prophets of Asherah among those to be gathered, alongside four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal. The same verse says that the prophets of Asherah eat at Jezebel’s table. Their name occurs in 1 Kings, in the form “prophets of Asherah.”
