Nathanael

Nathanael is a disciple in John’s Gospel, first named when Philip finds him and speaks of Jesus from Nazareth John 1:45. Nathanael questions whether anything good can come from Nazareth, and Philip replies, “Come and see” John 1:46. As Nathanael approaches, Jesus calls him an Israelite without deceit and says that he saw him under the fig tree before Philip called him John 1:47 John 1:48. Nathanael calls Jesus Rabbi, the Son of God, and the King of Israel John 1:49. He is later named from Cana of Galilee among a group of disciples John 21:2.
