Joshua son of Jehozadak is called the high priest in Haggai and Zechariah.
Joshua son of Jehozadak is the biblical figure first named at Haggai 1:1, where the word of the LORD comes to him as “the high priest.” Haggai states that Joshua, Zerubbabel, and the remnant obeyed the voice of the LORD and Haggai’s words (Haggai 1:12). The passage further says that they came and worked on the house of the LORD (Haggai 1:14).
In Zechariah, Joshua the high priest stands before the messenger of the LORD while the Satan opposes him (Zechariah 3:1). A later instruction calls for crowns to be set on Joshua son of Jehozadak’s head (Zechariah 6:11).
