Jonadab

Jonadab in the Bible is Amnon's friend, identified as the son of Shimeah and described as a very wise man in 2 Samuel 13:3. His counsel tells the listener to lie down, appear weak, and ask for Tamar to prepare food 2 Samuel 13:5.

Jonadab later tells the king that Amnon alone has died and connects it with Absalom's response after Tamar was afflicted 2 Samuel 13:32. He then tells the king that the king's sons have come, saying events occurred according to his word 2 Samuel 13:35. Jonadab is named in at least four verses, all in 2 Samuel.
