Jehiel in the Bible is the Ezra person identified as the father of Obadiah and Shecaniah (Ezra 8:9; Ezra 10:2). Obadiah is named among the sons of Joab, with two hundred and eighteen males accompanying him (Ezra 8:9). Shecaniah, described as one of the sons of Elam, speaks to Ezra about settling foreign women and says there is hope for Israel in the matter (Ezra 10:2).
Jehiel is named in at least four verses, all in Ezra. The name also occurs in lists from the sons of Harim and the sons of Elam (Ezra 10:21; Ezra 10:26).
