Hushai, David's friend in 2 Samuel, spoke against Ahithophel's counsel before Absalom.
Hushai is the 2 Samuel counselor called David's friend, first named when he met David at a summit where David would bow to God (2 Samuel 15:32; 2 Samuel 15:37). Hushai is named in at least 11 verses, all in 2 Samuel. He came to Absalom and said that Ahithophel's counsel “is not good” (2 Samuel 17:6; 2 Samuel 17:7). Absalom and the men of Israel judged Hushai's counsel better than Ahithophel's; the passage says the LORD had commanded Ahithophel's counsel be frustrated (2 Samuel 17:14).
