Hilkiah is the high priest associated with silver brought into the house of the LORD and with a scroll he found there.
Hilkiah the High Priest is the priest named in the biblical accounts of silver brought into the house of the LORD and of a scroll found there. He is first named when silver gathered by threshold keepers is to be accounted for 2 Kings 22:4. In Chronicles, people gave him collected silver for the house of God 2 Chronicles 34:9. While the silver was being brought out, Hilkiah found “the scroll of the instruction of the LORD by the hand of Moses” and gave it to Shaphan the secretary 2 Chronicles 34:14 2 Chronicles 34:15. The king later sent Hilkiah with others to Huldah the prophetess 2 Chronicles 34:22.
