Hepher

Hepher is a genealogical ancestor named among the Hepherites in Numbers 26:32. He is named in at least 4 verses across Numbers and Joshua. Numbers identifies Zelophehad as Hepher’s son and names Zelophehad’s daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah (Numbers 26:33). Joshua gives the line as Zelophehad son of Hepher, Hepher son of Gilead, then Machir and Manasseh (Joshua 17:3). In Joshua’s family listing, the sons of Hepher appear among the sons of Manasseh (Joshua 17:2).
