Hashabneiah is a person named in Nehemiah as the father of Hattush, who strengthened the next section in the work described at Nehemiah 3:10. He is also listed among the Levites who called on the people to rise and bless the LORD their God; the passage speaks of God's glorious name as exalted above all blessing and praise (Nehemiah 9:5). Hashabneiah's name occurs in at least two verses, both in Nehemiah.
