Ananias is the Jerusalem believer named with his wife Sapphira in Acts 5.
Ananias, Husband of Sapphira, is a Jerusalem believer in Acts who sold a possession together with Sapphira, his wife Acts 5:1. Peter addresses him, asking why Satan had filled his heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the proceeds Acts 5:3. After hearing these words, Ananias falls down and expires; the passage says that great fear comes upon those who hear Acts 5:5.
