Alphaeus, Father of Levi

Alphaeus, Father of Levi is the father named in Mark’s account of Levi’s call. He is first and only named in Mark 2:14, where the passage identifies Levi as “the son of Alphaeus.” In that verse, Levi is sitting at the tax booth when he is told, “Follow me”; Levi then rises and follows.
