Ahaz son of Jotham is named in Isaiah during an attack on Jerusalem and in exchanges involving the LORD.
Ahaz son of Jotham is the king of Judah identified in Isaiah as Jotham's son. Isaiah 7:1 places his days amid an attempted attack on Jerusalem by the kings of Aram and Israel; the verse says they were unable to fight against it. The LORD tells Isaiah to meet Ahaz at the end of the conduit of the upper pool (Isaiah 7:3), and later speaks to Ahaz (Isaiah 7:10). Ahaz replies, “I will not ask, and I will not put the LORD to the test” (Isaiah 7:12). He is named in at least four verses, all in Isaiah.
