Ahaz son of Jotham

son People also: Ahaz

Ahaz son of Jotham is named as king of Judah in Isaiah 7.

Ahaz son of Jotham is the king of Judah named in Isaiah during an unsuccessful attack on Jerusalem by the kings of Aram and Israel (Isaiah 7:1). When the report reached the house of David, the passage says that Ahaz and his people shook with fear (Isaiah 7:2). The LORD directed Isaiah to meet Ahaz (Isaiah 7:3) and later spoke to him (Isaiah 7:10). Ahaz replied, “I will not ask, and I will not put the LORD to the test” (Isaiah 7:12).
