Ahaz

Ahaz is a king of Judah named in Isaiah’s vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem, alongside Uzziah, Jotham, and Hezekiah Isaiah 1:1. Isaiah names Ahaz in at least three verses, all in that book. One oracle is dated “in the year of the death of King Ahaz” Isaiah 14:28. Later, a passage says that the sun’s shadow returned ten steps backward on “the steps of Ahaz” Isaiah 38:8.
