Abijah (1 Chronicles 2:24)

Abijah (1 Chronicles 2:24) is the woman identified in 1 Chronicles 2:24 as the wife of Hezron and the mother of Ashhur. The verse places her in the statement following Hezron’s death in Caleb-Ephrathah. It reads that Abijah bore Ashhur, who is called “the father of Tekoa,” to him. This Abijah is named in at least 1 verse, all within 1 Chronicles, and should not be conflated with other biblical figures bearing the same name.
