Privacy Policy
Last updated · May 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Anselm Project collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Email Address: We collect your email address when you register for an account.
How We Use Your Information
Your email address is used solely for the following purposes:
- To manage your login to the Anselm Project system.
- To manage your report credits.
- To track and provide access to the reports you generate.
- To send essential account-related notifications, such as email verification.
- To send occasional emails when a new article is published on the blog, if you are subscribed to email updates (see Email Updates below). You can opt out at any time.
- To store and manage user preferences and account settings tied to your profile.
Email Updates (Newsletter)
The Anselm Project sends an occasional email when a new article is published on the blog. Marketing or promotional messages are not part of this list.
Who is on the list:
- Verified account holders are subscribed by default. You can turn this off at any time from Settings → Email Updates or by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Visitors without an account can subscribe via the form in the site footer. Visitor subscriptions require a confirmation click sent to the address provided — your email will not be added to the list until you confirm.
What's stored: your email address, the date you joined or unsubscribed, and the source (account toggle, visitor signup, or initial migration). Nothing else is added to the newsletter record.
Unsubscribing: every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link in the header (where supported) and in the footer. Unsubscribing is immediate and does not require an account login.
Existing accounts (May 21, 2026 update): when this feature launched, every account with a verified email address was opted in. A launch announcement was sent to that list with an unsubscribe link inside, so anyone who didn't want to receive these emails could opt out before the next article was sent.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect any other personally identifiable information. This site does not include a comment system, and we do not track your activity for advertising purposes.
Information Sharing and Selling
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your email address to outside parties.
Payment Processing
When you join or purchase report credits via the web, your payment is processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. The Anselm Project itself does not directly collect, store, or have access to your full credit card number or other sensitive financial details required to make unauthorized charges.
Stripe securely handles and stores your complete payment information in accordance with their Privacy Policy. Through Stripe, we may have access to certain transaction details for order fulfillment, customer service, and financial record-keeping. This might include information such as the last four digits of your card, card type, expiration date, and billing information, but not your complete card number.
On the iOS app, in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. The Anselm Project does not receive or store any Apple Pay or App Store payment details — only a transaction confirmation is used to activate your purchase.
Data Security
We implement security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you enter, submit, or access your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
