qa.lah describes people assembling together in pursuit of someone.

The sole attested use depicts people coming together and then following after a man in 2 Samuel 20:14.

   In 2 Samuel 20:14, the form יקלהו is a Niphal sequential imperfect, 3rd masculine plural, in the clause concerning the Bichrites; the APB renders that they “assembled and also came after him.”

In the Anselm Project Bible: In 2 Samuel 20:14 the APB presents the clause as the Bichrites who “assembled and also came after him.” Its precise English contribution to the Hebrew form cannot be isolated with certainty.
