tsa.lah describes preparing meat over fire, whether requested for a priest or done for eating.

The three attestations show the verb for preparing meat over fire: requested for a priest in 1 Samuel 2:15 and performed on meat that is then eaten in Isaiah 44:16 and Isaiah 44:19.

1. Preparing meat over fire · dominant

   In 1 Samuel 2:15, the Qal infinitive construct occurs in the request for flesh for the priest; the APB renders the request "Give flesh to roast for the priest." In Isaiah 44:16 and Isaiah 44:19, Qal imperfect forms occur where a person prepares meat over fire and eats it; the APB renders "he roasts meat and eats" and "I roasted meat and ate."

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB uses "roast" in 1 Samuel 2:15 and "roasts/roasted meat" in Isaiah 44:16 and Isaiah 44:19. These are verse-level renderings rather than definitions.
