a.ma.le.qi identifies a person, people, or territory designated in the verses as Amalekite.

The term identifies Amalek-associated people, whether as a group engaged in dwelling, raiding, or fighting, or as an individual's stated identity; it can also mark land or a mountain by that designation.

   The masculine singular gentilic form designates a people in military and geographic settings: in Numbers 14:45 the APB renders the clause "The Amalekite and the Canaanite who dwell in that mountain came down and struck them," while in 1 Samuel 30:1 it says that this group raided the Negeb and Ziklag. The same form identifies an individual in 2 Samuel 1:8, where the APB renders the reply "I am an Amalekite," and marks territory in Genesis 14:7 and Judges 12:15.

In the Anselm Project Bible: Across the verses, the APB commonly presents the form as "Amalekite" or "Amalekites," including individual self-identification and a collective group. It also uses "land of the Amalekite" and "mountain of the Amalekite" for territorial expressions; these are renderings of whole clauses.
