The two attestations present sar.bal as a garment belonging to the men who are bound and cast into the furnace, then observed unchanged after the fire.

   Both occurrences use a masculine plural construct noun in the account of the men and the furnace. In Daniel 3:21 the APB renders the clothing list as including “trousers” when the men are bound and cast into the fire; in Daniel 3:27 it again renders “their trousers” among what the fire had not changed.
