The sole attested use identifies Darius in the setting of his administration over the kingdom in Daniel 6:1.

   In Daniel 6:1, the determined masculine singular gentilicial form occurs with Darius as the verse introduces his appointment of satraps throughout the kingdom; the APB renders the verse’s setting, “It was pleasing before Darius, and he appointed over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps.”
