   Both occurrences use the noun in the construct singular. In Genesis 49:10, the form stands in the clause concerning the peoples and the awaited figure; the APB renders the clause “and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.” In Proverbs 30:17, it occurs in the warning about an eye that “scorns obedience to a mother.”
