The two attested uses place the term in descriptions of visible white material or attire: palace curtains in Esther 1:6 and Mordecai’s royal garments in Esther 8:15.

   In Esther 1:6, the masculine singular absolute form occurs in the description of curtains and hangings; the APB renders the setting with "white cotton curtains." In Esther 8:15, the same form occurs with Mordecai’s royal garments, which the APB renders as "blue and white."
