be.rakh denotes blessing God, either as an action or in a declaration that God is blessed.

The attested use concerns blessing God: Daniel blesses the God of heaven after a mystery is revealed, while Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar declare God blessed in response to his wisdom, might, and deliverance.

   In Daniel 2:19, the Piel perfect occurs after the night vision, and the APB renders the clause “then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.” In Daniel 2:20 and Daniel 3:28, passive participles stand in declarations about God; the APB renders “Blessed be the name of God” and “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego,” the latter following the deliverance of his servants.
