esh.nav denotes a lattice-like opening through which someone looks or peers.

The two attestations show a lattice-like opening associated with looking outward: Sisera’s mother peers through it in Judges 5:28, and the speaker looks out through one at his house in Proverbs 7:6.

   In Judges 5:28, the masculine singular absolute form occurs in the clause where Sisera’s mother peers outward; the APB renders the scene as looking “through the lattice.” In Proverbs 7:6, the masculine singular construct form occurs with “the window of my house,” and the APB renders the speaker looking out “through my lattice.”
