   In Genesis 21:33 the masculine singular absolute form occurs in the clause about planting it at Beersheba. In 1 Samuel 22:6 the APB renders Saul as dwelling “under the tamarisk,” while in 1 Samuel 31:13 it renders the burial of bones “under the tamarisk tree” in Jabesh; these clauses present the same tree as a place-defining feature.

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the term as “tamarisk” in Genesis 21:33 and 1 Samuel 22:6, and as “tamarisk tree” in 1 Samuel 31:13. These renderings confirm the verse settings rather than establish finer distinctions.
