The attested use describes leading a person by the hand when loss of sight requires others to bring him onward, as the participial forms show in Acts 9:8 and Acts 22:11.

   In Acts 9:8, the present active participle occurs as Saul cannot see and others bring him into Damascus; the APB renders the clause “they led him by the hand.” In Acts 22:11, the present passive participle describes the speaker being led by those with him because he could not see; the APB likewise renders “I was led by the hand.”
