Photeinos describes what is bright or fully lit, whether a whole body or a cloud.

The attested use describes a visibly bright or illuminated condition: a whole body is described this way in the eye-and-lamp sayings, while a cloud is so described when it overshadows those present.

   In Luke 11:34 and Matthew 6:22, the nominative singular neuter form occurs in the clause about the whole body when the eye is sound; the APB renders the body as "bright." Luke 11:36 repeats the neuter form twice in describing a whole body with "no dark part," while Matthew 17:5 uses the nominative singular feminine form for the cloud that overshadowed them; the APB renders it "a bright cloud."

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the body as "bright" in Luke 11:34, Luke 11:36, and Matthew 6:22, and calls the cloud "bright" in Matthew 17:5. These renderings confirm the clauses' presentation rather than isolate each token mechanically.
