understanding
Phronesis is understanding shown as the quality associated with wisdom and with the just.
The two occurrences present understanding as a quality associated with wisdom in Ephesians 1:8 and with the just in Luke 1:17; the shared dative singular feminine form does not establish separate senses.

Understanding associated with wisdom and the just · dominant
Both occurrences use φρονήσει as a dative singular feminine noun. In Ephesians 1:8, the APB renders the surrounding clause as abounding "in all wisdom and understanding"; in Luke 1:17, it renders the disobedient as turned "to the understanding of the just."
In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB uses "understanding" in both verses, once alongside "wisdom" and once in the phrase "understanding of the just." These clauses indicate the verse-level presentation rather than a precise token-by-token rendering.
