Phoinike names the place reached or traversed in travel and journey narratives.

The attested forms identify a geographic destination or route: people pass through it in Acts 11:19 and Acts 15:3, while a boat is found crossing to it in Acts 21:2.

1. A place on a travel route · dominant

   In Acts 11:19, the genitive singular form occurs in the report that scattered people passed through as far as this place; in Acts 15:3, the accusative singular form occurs with passing through it and Samaria. In Acts 21:2, the accusative singular form marks the destination of a boat crossing there; the APB renders the place name "Phoenicia" in each verse.

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the term as "Phoenicia" in all three verses, within accounts of passing through the place or sailing to it. The travel clauses provide the clearer indication of its contribution.
