   In 1 Timothy 5:6, the present active participle describes a woman whose continuing manner of life is set against being “dead even while she lives” in the APB. In James 5:5, the aorist active indicative addresses a group whose past conduct is placed alongside living “in luxury on the earth” and fattening their hearts “in a day of slaughter.”
