Salome is the named woman among those watching at a distance and later buying spices to anoint him.

The attested form identifies Salome as a named woman: she is listed among women watching from a distance in Mark 15:40 and among those who bought spices to anoint him in Mark 16:1.

   In Mark 15:40, the nominative singular feminine form occurs in the list of women watching from a distance; the APB renders the list as including “Salome.” In Mark 16:1, the same form occurs with the two Marys in the clause about buying spices so that they might anoint him; the APB again names “Salome.”

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the name as “Salome” in both verses: first in a list of women watching, then among those buying spices. The verse is read as a whole, but the name is plainly retained in each list.
