prosochthizo describes anger directed toward people for their conduct, as those who went astray and sinned.

The two occurrences show anger directed toward a generation characterized by going astray and not knowing God's ways, and toward those who sinned and fell in the desert.

1. Anger toward a disobedient group · dominant

   Both forms occur in aorist active indicative clauses. In Hebrews 3:10 the first-person form is followed by the statement that the generation always went astray in heart and did not know God's ways; in Hebrews 3:17 the third-person form is asked of those who sinned and whose bodies fell in the desert. The APB renders the relevant clauses with "was angry" and "was he angry."
