   The accusative form occurs in clauses about being destined “to obtain salvation” in 1 Thessalonians 5:9, being called so as to “obtain the glory” in 2 Thessalonians 2:14, and having faith that will “preserve their souls” in Hebrews 10:39. In 1 Peter 2:9 the APB describes a people “for his own possession,” while the genitive form in Ephesians 1:14 occurs in the clause rendered “the redemption of the acquired possession.”
