Paphos is a place named as the destination reached after crossing an island and as the point of departure for Perga.

The attested form identifies the same place in movement descriptions: travelers reach it after passing through an island in Acts 13:6 and depart from it for Perga in Acts 13:13.

   In Acts 13:6, the genitive singular form occurs in the clause describing travelers passing through the whole island as far as this place; the APB renders the destination as “Paphos.” In Acts 13:13, the same form marks the place from which those with Paul were led away before coming to Perga; the APB renders “from Paphos.”

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB presents the place name as “Paphos” in both verses, once as a destination and once after “from.” These renderings confirm the travel setting rather than define the term independently.
