virgin
Parthenos identifies virginal persons, including women in marriage-related settings and a masculine plural group in Revelation.
The term identifies virginal persons across marriage-related instruction, betrothal, and the lamp-bearing group in the parable; it also appears as a masculine plural for those described as not defiled with women in Revelation 14:4.

In 1 Corinthians 7:36–38, the accusative singular occurs in clauses about keeping, giving in marriage, or not giving in marriage a virgin. In Matthew 25:1, Matthew 25:7, and Matthew 25:11, plural forms designate the ten lamp-bearing women and the group that later asks to be admitted. Revelation 14:4 uses a nominative masculine plural for persons described as not having defiled themselves with women.
In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB commonly presents the referents as “virgin” or “virgins,” while Acts 21:9 says “unmarried daughters” and 1 Corinthians 7:28 says “an engaged woman.” These variations describe the verses’ presentations rather than fixed renderings of the term.
