Lusias identifies the person named in a letter to Felix and in Felix's reference to a military officer.

The attested use identifies the same named individual: in Acts 23:26 he is the sender addressing Felix, and in Acts 24:22 he is the military officer whose arrival Felix awaits.

   The nominative singular masculine form identifies the sender in Acts 23:26; the APB renders the opening, "Claudius Lysias to the most excellent governor Felix, greetings." In Acts 24:22 the same form identifies the military officer whose coming Felix mentions; the APB renders, "When Lysias the military officer comes down, I will decide your case."
