Kres identifies people named in a list of hearers and in a quoted characterization in the Bible.

Kres is used as a plural people-name: in Acts 2:11 it appears among groups hearing speech in their own tongues, and in Titus 1:12 it names the people addressed by a quoted characterization.

   Both occurrences use the nominative plural masculine form. In Acts 2:11 the APB renders a list including “Cretans” among those who hear speech in their own tongues; in Titus 1:12 it renders “Cretans” as the people described in a quotation attributed to one of their own prophets.
