Klinidion denotes the portable resting surface lowered with a paralyzed man and later taken up by him.

The two occurrences depict a single use: the object on which a paralyzed man is lowered into the gathering and which he is then told to take up and carry away.

   In Luke 5:19, the dative singular form occurs as the man is lowered through the tiles; the APB renders the clause "lowered him with the bed." In Luke 5:24, the accusative singular form is the object he is told to take up after arising; the APB renders "take up your bed."

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB uses "bed" in both verses, describing it first as accompanying the man when he is lowered and then as something he is commanded to take up. These renderings confirm the scene without isolating every contribution of the Greek form.
