Katenopion marks a person or condition as situated in the presence of the one named in the clause.

As a preposition, it marks the relation of being presented, holy and blameless, or standing in the presence of the one specified by the clause.

   The form is tagged as a preposition in each occurrence. In Colossians 1:22 the APB renders those presented holy, blameless, and irreproachable “before him”; in Ephesians 1:4 it renders being holy and blameless “before him”; and in Jude 1:24 it renders standing “before his glory,” blameless with joy.
