In Luke 5:7, κατένευσαν is a third-person plural aorist active indicative form describing what the people did toward their partners in the other boat. The APB renders the clause, “So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them,” followed by the partners’ response.
In the Anselm Project Bible: In Luke 5:7, the APB presents the action as “they signaled” to partners in another boat “to come and help them.” The verse is read as a whole, but the clause clearly portrays a signal directed to others.
