   The present plural forms describe Gentile rulers in Matthew 20:25 and Mark 10:42; in both verses the APB renders the clause "lord it over them." The present active participle in 1 Peter 5:3 is contrasted with becoming examples to the flock, and the APB renders the clause "Nor as mastering the lots." The aorist active participle in Acts 19:16 occurs in the account of the man with the evil spirit and the group he confronts; the APB renders the verse as the man who "overpowered them all, and prevailed against them."
