enistemi marks things, times, or events as presently in view or as having arrived.

The attested usage marks realities as present or in force: it describes present things, a necessity, an age, and a time, and it can state that a day is present or that harsh times will be present.

1. Present realities, times, and events · dominant

   Perfect active participial forms describe realities currently in view: in 1 Corinthians 3:22 and Romans 8:38 the APB renders a contrast involving “things present” and “things to come,” while 1 Corinthians 7:26, Galatians 1:4, and Hebrews 9:9 refer to a present necessity, age, and time. In 2 Thessalonians 2:2, the perfect active indicative occurs in the claim that “the day of the Lord is present”; 2 Timothy 3:1 uses a future middle indicative for harsh times that “will be present.”
