The attested use describes Jesus’ death, occurring after a great cry or after his final spoken words; the same event is observed by the centurion in Mark 15:39.

1. Dying after a cry or final words · dominant

   All three occurrences use the same aorist active indicative singular form for Jesus’ death. In Mark 15:37 the APB renders the sequence, “Then Jesus uttered a great cry and expired”; in Luke 23:46 it follows his words committing his spirit into the Father’s hands, and Mark 15:39 presents the centurion as seeing how he died.
