Didaktikos describes a person qualified for teaching within the conduct expected of an overseer or the Lord’s servant.

The two attestations describe teaching qualification as part of the expected conduct of an overseer and of the Lord’s servant, alongside other personal qualities.

   In 1 Timothy 3:2, the accusative singular masculine form occurs in the list of qualities required of the overseer; the APB renders the list with “able to teach.” In 2 Timothy 2:24, the same form stands among the Lord’s servant’s non-quarrelsome and gentle conduct; the APB again renders “able to teach.”

In the Anselm Project Bible: Across both verses, the APB presents the relevant quality as “able to teach.” This rendering is confirmed by the surrounding quality lists rather than treated as a precise lexical equivalence.
