Apostegazo describes removing or opening a roof so that a bed can be lowered through it.

The attested use describes opening up the roof above a person so that the paralytic's bed could be lowered down.

   In Mark 2:4, the aorist active indicative plural form names what the group did when they could not bring the man through the crowd: the APB renders the clause, “they unroofed the roof where he was,” before they let down the bed.

In the Anselm Project Bible: In Mark 2:4, the APB presents the action as “they unroofed the roof where he was.” The verse is read as a whole, but its clause portrays the roof-opening action before the bed is lowered.
