Anosios identifies people placed among lists of conduct condemned as wrongful and lacking reverence.

The attested uses identify people included in moral lists of condemned conduct: within the persons for whom law is laid down in 1 Timothy 1:9 and among the traits predicted of humans in 2 Timothy 3:2.

   In 1 Timothy 1:9, the dative plural masculine form ἀνοσίοις occurs in the law’s list of people, where the APB renders the surrounding sequence “for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and profane.” In 2 Timothy 3:2, the nominative plural masculine ἀνόσιοι appears among predicted human traits; the APB renders the list ending “ungrateful, and unholy.”
