The attested use concerns sustained attention to something before the observer: worship objects encountered while passing through in Acts 17:23 and the outcome of leaders’ way of life in Hebrews 13:7.

   In Acts 17:23, the present active participle describes the speaker passing through and examining objects of worship; the APB renders the clause "as I passed through and observed your objects of worship." In Hebrews 13:7, the plural present active participle concerns considering the outcome of leaders' way of life before imitating their faith; the APB renders "considering the outcome of their way of life."
