halizo describes being salted, including salt itself being subjected to salting and everyone being salted with fire.

The two occurrences show the same future passive use: a subject is described as being salted, once in a question about salt itself and once in the statement that everyone will be salted with fire.

1. Being subjected to salting · dominant

   Both occurrences use the same third-person singular future passive indicative form. In Matthew 5:13, the form occurs in the question of what could happen to salt after it becomes foolish; the APB renders the clause, “with what will it be salted?” In Mark 9:49, the subject is everyone, and the APB renders, “For everyone will be salted with fire.”

In the Anselm Project Bible: The APB uses “be salted” in both verses, adding “with fire” in Mark 9:49. As a whole-verse translation, it does not independently establish a word-for-word alignment.
